The world has changed a lot in the past few years. We now also give importance to capturing and sharing our memories along with experiencing it first hand. Photography has come a long way to help us achieve it. I have always been lagging behind when it came to getting the latest stuff. When people started moving towards the digital cameras in the early 2000's, i got my first camera, the one with the 36photo reel. And now that all my friends are owning a DSLR, i finally have a simple low end point and shoot camera. 

A day outing - Bike, Roads and Food

One of my friends is leaving for his MS next month, so we wanted to plan a trip. Planning a trip is tough especially when the people going on this trip work in different companies. After looking into all options and feasibility, we came to a conclusion that we cant have a trip. It was my friends last weekend in Bangalore and to quote his words "A lot of people want to meet me but i don't have time". (I can give the link to his tweet :P) We now decided to make it a day outing. Since only 3 of us were available, we did not have much choice as in what to do or where to go. So we decided to take it one step at a time (Too much cricket commentary influence). All we needed was a start.

I belong to the family that owns a couple of Vegetable Shops in Udupi district. We are one big family and i have about 2 dozen cousins. One fine evening few years back we elder kids sat in garden and spoke about having a Shenoy Mansion (Yeah, totally Hindi Soap types) and expanding/managing the family business. Years passed by and in a few years there will be a dozen engineers in the family. One day in future i would love to be a part of something owned and managed by our family. Having said that let me get back to the topic of the post :)

Bangalore is a happening place. No, not referring to the night life but in terms of events that happen in Bangalore. I got an opportunity to attend 4 events over Friday and Saturday. Here is a small write up on each of those events.

One million men, One million promises, End violence against women

Ring the bell is a worldwide campaign that has been started to fight against the violence against women. Ring the bell campaign took place across the globe on the Women's Day. In Bangalore, Onskies was a proud partner of this initiative and they called for a meetup to discuss what can be done to improve the current situation in India. I got an opportunity to be a part of it.

Clutch Breaks and Gears

2+ years since we passed out of college and everyone from my hostel gang have been very busy. We still made time every now and then to catch up with each other. It was during one of such meets that we decided to go on a trip. For a change we decided to make it a bike trip. We started asking around for places where we could go for a 3day trip. The only place that looked feasible was Coorg. We decided not to go to the places that all of us have visited before. My friend Guru told that there is a place called Mandalpatti where certain song sequences of the Kannada movie Gaalipata was filmed. So with just one location in mind we started out on a 3day trip.
