2019 is almost over and I just have two posts to show for this year. I was in a similar blog-less situation back in April 2018 and I wrote a post explaining to the future me about why there was a short break in the blog and ended the post with - “I will try to blog regularly so that you don’t have to read a post like this again”. (Link to the post in the bottom) Well here I am with a similar post again and this post is just me thinking out loud about things that changed over the past few years.

Long time no blog
I received a mail saying my domain is up for renewal and that is when i remembered that it has been ages since I wrote a blog. I even forgot what the last blog I wrote was until I logged into blogger. The last few months were so busy that whenever I found time, I just lazed on the couch watching some dubbed movie on TV or binged the shows that at one point of time I watched within hours of it airing in US. And before you guys think of it, it is not the marriage! I did travel a lot since the wedding, watched more movies in theatre than ever before, almost visited the same number of restaurants per month and gained about the same amount of waistline as before the wedding.

Friends & Travel
I have been blogging about travel for around 2 years now and almost all my travel have been with family or friends. A lot of people have asked me to try solo traveling. I aim to do that someday though I highly doubt that would happen. When going to new places, I like to be around people that I know. In this post I will summarize few of the trips that I went on with my best friends.

A Big Leap
Exactly an year ago on this day I quit my job in an MNC and decided to join a small company that was yet to make its presence felt in the industry. It was a big decision to take with a lot of If's and But's and now one year later I feel it was a right move.
Quitting your first job is tough when you have been there for almost 4 years. So many people to leave behind - the friends you started your career with, the team that mentored you and helped you reach where you are today and the colleagues that covered up for you when you pretended to be sick. It all started when the big companies had a round of layoffs in early 2014. I also a wrote a post back then (to quit or not to quit) for a website based on the what I heard from other people from the industry and here I will try to give my point of view.

Friends forever!!
This post was originally written as part of a campaign for the website - housing.com to promote the power of optimism. In my earlier two posts as a part of this campaign, I have blogged about how for every choice we make in life, we #StartANewLife and how involvement of people through social media is giving a positive direction for the country and is helping us #lookup. In this post I am going to write about friendship and how it feels to stay #together.

#StartANewLife
There was a time when we were fed, clothed and carried by our parents. We did not know what to do unless we were told to. Yes, we were infants, the innocent little monsters who would one day shape our country. The time then moved really fast and we reached a stage where we needed to be told what is right and what is wrong. We needed to be guided to choose what we wanted to study and that would eventually decide our career paths. Once we started working we felt like we were independent yet fully dependent on our inner circle.

The other side!!
We always wish we could re-live the good old days. As PU students we wanted it all to get over soon so that we could go join an engineering college. During engineering we wanted the 4yrs to pass by so that we could take a lucrative job. And once we are there, we want to turn back time and go back to the good old days. I myself have contributed to trending #GoodOldDays, #YouRemember and many such hashtags on twitter (Twitter Addict Alert!!). In the last 2 weeks I got opportunities to revisit my past ( Yeah! Opportunity did knock twice :D ).

Deepavali!!
So my brother asked me to write a blog about Deepavali. As in how it is different in Bangalore and back home. So here i go :)
In my last 6yrs away from home, this is the first time i am celebrating Deepavali in Bangalore. Celebrating Deepavali in a village is a lot different then celebrating it here in a city. Below is just a comparison from my point of view.

Dreams
Dreams are the best thing that probably happens to us. Not the dreams as in something that we want, but as something that comes when we are asleep. Those spontaneous random sequence of events, which has absolutely no relation to each other. People say its the subconscious mind playing games. Some of them turn out to be nightmares and few other brings a smile on your face. He has gone through a lot lately and he has had his shares of both.

Rains!!!
Rainy days were so different when he was young.
It was about colorful raincoats.
It was about new umbrella every year.
It was about the new rainy shoes.
It was about making paper boats with cousins.
It was about calling school and seeing if they have declared a holiday

Chronicles of Boston Boy - Part 2 : The Place
Link to Part 1
When he stepped outside the Boston Airport, it was really beautiful outside. Tall illuminated buildings and some cute people walking around. The weather was amazing. Well he was at an unknown place, among unknown people.

Chronicles of Boston Boy - Part 1 : The Travel
Date : September 9th
Time : 4am
Remember the movie Border, where Jakie Shroff stands and waits for it to be sunrise so that he can finally fly his jet and help his fellow soldiers win the battle. Well this guys case was something similar. He had a 630 am flight and he was at the airport waiting for sunrise so that he can finally board his first international flight. There was so much uncertainty about this trip, it was already postponed twice, so he had told only a few ppl about this trip. Now it was time, the gates were opened and there was one last thing to do - Post a check-in on Facebook. Its like unless they see a check-in, people dont tend to believe that someone is going onsite.

[3.2MP] Rainy Vacations

Small Joys
In this busy routine life, we tend to miss out those little things that bring a smile on our face. Last week i decided to take a break from my Bangalore life and go home to visit relatives. Einsteins theory of relativity works very well when we are on a vacation. 5days just flew by. Being a social media addict, i missed twitter and fb. I thought of all the things that i could have tweeted in those 5days. But i also realized those little things i would have missed out if i was glued to the laptop.

The Journey
He loved the overnight journey from/to his hometown. He always had a problem getting sleep while traveling. So he used to select the single window seat every time he traveled. That was his 'alone' time. He used to listen to his favorite playlist and let the cool breeze guide him through a dramatic thought process. It was nice to see that the moon was also traveling with him.

Not a student nor a professional
So before i start this post let me put up the tweet that inspired me to put up this post:
Now I have 5 months before I join TCS. What shall I du in those 5 months.? #AnySuggestions? So the answer to this question is actually straight forward. But being from VTU its obvious we write stories and never answer to the point. :)

The nice guy who's always just a Friend
Recently i had shared a story on my blog (Yet another love story). This post caused a lot of discussions on twitter. There were a few people who told that the guy in the story resembled a lot like their past. And a few people predicted that their future will be like that guy. Here is another such mail that i received a couple of days back. Thought will share it with you folks.
