When I asked my colleagues about places to visit during my 6 weeks stay, they said go hiking, go skiing and experience the ferry ride to the island. One of my colleagues even suggested that I take a Seaplane ride to the island if I get a good deal. As the name suggests, Vancouver Island is an island off the coast of Vancouver. It has few cities and takes about an hour to two hours by the BC Ferries depending on which part of the Island you want to go. The seaplanes take you there in about 30 mins.

Vancouver - The Mountains
In my previous post I wrote about the various hikes I went on before the winters set in. Towards end of November it rained heavily and started snowing at the major hiking places. So it was time to explore the winter destinations around Vancouver. To start with I experienced two snow storms in the city which I am told is a rare occurrence (lets all blame climate change).

Vancouver - The hikes
I visited Vancouver for the first time in Summer 2015 but it was a short visit. When I visited again in 2016, I got to experience the winters. November was just rainy and the temperatures were between 5 to 14 degrees celsius and it started dipping to 0 towards mid December when I returned (for good). So for the first 3 weeks of my stay in Vancouver, the weather was decent with slight drizzle so I got to go on numerous hikes (or as we call it - trek)

Weekends in Vancouver
It is the last day of 2016 and like the previous year, I have a backlog of blogs that I planned to write but never did. This year it is the blog series on my 6 week Vancouver trip. So just like my past blog series, I will cover the highlights in this post and go into details in my future blog posts in January.

Vancouver City!
Couple of weeks back I was presented with an opportunity to visit our office in Vancouver, Canada. In this post I will try to write about what I loved about the city during my short stay of 8days and also touch upon what to do in case you get to visit this beautiful city. My flight took off from Bangalore at 3am and after roughly 22hrs, I landed on the same day at 1pm in Vancouver. It was very important for me to stay awake until that night so that I do not mess up my already messed up sleep cycle. Oh and my first day was terrible as it was summer and the sunset happened at 10:30pm. Was not prepared to see sunlight at 10pm. Luckily for me one of my friends had driven down from Seattle for the weekend and he had the city figured out.
