Vancouver - The Mountains

In my previous post I wrote about the various hikes I went on before the winters set in. Towards end of November it rained heavily and started snowing at the major hiking places. So it was time to explore the winter destinations around Vancouver. To start with I experienced two snow storms in the city which I am told is a rare occurrence (lets all blame climate change).

Vancouver - The hikes

I visited Vancouver for the first time in Summer 2015 but it was a short visit. When I visited again in 2016, I got to experience the winters. November was just rainy and the temperatures were between 5 to 14 degrees celsius and it started dipping to 0 towards mid December when I returned (for good). So for the first 3 weeks of my stay in Vancouver, the weather was decent with slight drizzle so I got to go on numerous hikes (or as we call it - trek)

Dandiganahalli Dam & Nandi Hills

Dandiganahalli Dam is a small reservoir around 90kms from Bangalore. You travel on the AH-43 (formerly NH-44, Hyderabad Highway) past the Airport Road toll in Devanahalli and then take a deviation from Chikkaballapur. This is a really good place for some peace and quiet since it hardly has any visitors. We were the only people there when we visited.

Amtrak to Portland & the Oregon Historic Route

In my previous post, I summarized my 5 weekends of the recent Vancouver trip. During my trip to Vancouver in 2015, I had crossed the border and visited Seattle. This time I went a state further south to Oregon (Portland). In this post I will highlight my long weekend in Portland. Well technically I spent 8hrs on two of those days traveling to/from Portland but that was an experience too.

2017 Calendar

Let me start with wishing you all a very Happy New Year 2017. Thank you for all the support and encouragement you have shown to me by visiting by blogs and liking my posts on other social media platforms.

Earlier this week I thought I should try something new this year and one of my ex-colleagues sent me a pdf with 12 of his clicks as a calendar. So I thought to experiment with my clicks. I installed Gimp (for windows) and started playing around with it. This is the first version of my calendar and I am pretty sure there is a lot of room for improvement. Feel free to download and use it as appropriate :)

Weekends in Vancouver

It is the last day of 2016 and like the previous year, I have a backlog of blogs that I planned to write but never did. This year it is the blog series on my 6 week Vancouver trip. So just like my past blog series, I will cover the highlights in this post and go into details in my future blog posts in January.

Eden Heights - Premium homes at Whitefield

It’s been 3 days after my last site visit to a newly launched residential project. This time, it was Habitat’s Eden Heights. As a blogger, especially with real estate, it becomes second nature to keep my ears open and listen to any and all the feedback I receive about a said property. This helps with the writing process, especially since I can address any concern. Over the last weekend, I went to the Eden Heights project and I was pleasantly surprised with its proximity to Hoodi Circle, to luxury malls, IT parks, restaurants and many places for business and fun.  Hoodi is bustling with activity and what more, there’s an upcoming metro station the vicinity.
